The Israel Assocation for the Advancement of Women's Health is a nonprofit organization located in Jerusalem.  It is the only organization of its kind in Israel, dedicated to empowering Israeli women as health consumers, to improving access to vital health information and services and to influencing public health policy for women.  For over a decade, IAAWH has strived to overcome gender bias in the Israeli health care system, to raise awareness among health providers and policymakers regarding the unique health requirements of women and to address the special needs of underserved populations and overcome cultural barriers to health care. 

IAAWH is committed to providing women with accurate and reliable health information so that they may take better care of themselves and better navigate the health care system for themselves and their families.  At the same time, we are engaged in professional training and advocacy in order to raise awareness of the unique needs of women and provide health care workers with the tools and skills to better care for the female population.

IAAWH relies on private grants and donations in order to promote programs that service the needs of Israeli women from all social, economic, and cultural strata, sexual orientation, and geographic location. 

Diseases do not stop at national borders and health care is a basic human right that transcends boundaries and has the power to unite women from diverse backgrounds.
