IAAWH's consumer education program is aimed at empowering Israeli women as health consumers by providing them with the knowledge and information to take greater control over their health and better navigate the health care system.
"La-Briut" – IAAWH's Hebrew web site, makes accessible to consumers a wealth of information on patient rights, women-centered services, latest developments in women's health, treatment options and tips for staying healthy.
Conferences, health days and other events
- In 2003 IAAWH held a giant health fair in Jerusalem attended by over 1000 female soldiers and officers in Israel's Defense Forces.
- This year, IAAWH initiated the first conference on "Medical and Social Perspectives on Women and the Uterus." The conference was geared for medical professionals and leaders of social change.
- Next year, a conference is planned on women and the uterus for consumers. The aim is to disseminate information on the latest treatments available for fibroids and other uterine conditions so that women (70% of whom suffer from fibroids), can make informed choices.
